Every day we hear more stories about kids being left behind and parents being pushed out of the decision-making process. What’s worse, is that that Minnesota’s disadvantaged children are being hit the hardest – and the students being left behind are those who have historically been neglected.
Here in Minnesota, we struggle with the largest achievement gap in the country, with the education establishment failing to address parents’ concerns about their children’s future. Yet, nothing is being done to embrace the kind of fundamental changes to overcome this gap, like those embraced elsewhere in the country.
The only true way to address unnecessary mandates and too many shutdowns throughout our schools is by empowering parents through Education Savings Accounts (ESAs).
